When I bought the Pursuit of Cobra Desert Battle Storm Shadow last summer, it was solely because I wanted the weapons included with the figure. The tekagi-shuko, four shuriken, and connecting swords were enough of a draw to make the purchase. The manrikigusari made with a real chain, however, proved to be the real winner out of his accessories, and it made me want to alter every string-attached ninja weapon I owned. With some very inexpensive chains and jump rings from a Charlotte, NC bead store, I began modifying nunchaku and kusarigama that had been included with figures likeĀ The Rise of Cobra Kamakura, Retaliation Kamakura, and the SDCC-exclusive Jinx. I even ordered the “Tornado Kick” Snake-Eyes to get more string weapons and add more chains.
The chains really do improve the look and feel of a ninja display, and replacing the string is quick, cheap, and easy to do.
